As an update, I continue to reach new points of physical activity as my strength is returning. Last week I climbed a flight of stairs with little difficulty (slow but steady). I am also walking more now. I still get tired being on my feet as both legs are still weak and require more exercise. I am not depending on a walker any longer, which I am glad for. I was told in the hospital that between six and eight weeks, transplant patients will hit a point of renewed energy and strength. I must be at the early point of that now. This all comes with the fall weather. On "non-rainy" days in Seattle, there are parks Rose and I enjoy visiting. Green Lake, with a walking path 2.8 miles around the lake is one of our favorite places to visit (Rose walks round the lake. Rick walk from the parked car to the lake and finds a bench to read a book from. The sunny fall days, the color of the leaves, the smell of fall in the air are all things we are enjoying now.
I have a Biopsy latter in the week to check on the condition of the heart. Things from my perspective seem to be doing fine. Every day I am thankful or this gift I have been entrusted with. I feel very blessed with this new heart.
You guys both look wonderful. We are so glad Rick is doing so well. What a blessing you have been given.
ReplyDeleteWe look forward to you guys being back with us.
