I have just heard that a potential heart is available for my friend, Dick as of Friday (October 23) afternoon. Dick is being prepared for surgery right now. Because Dick is a good size, there are some issues with donor heart that will need to be screened. This is true for any transplant. The Doctors are wanting the best change of success as possible. Dick has been waiting for a long time and has maintained a very positive attitude. I wish him well and would appreciate your prayers for my friend. Thanks
Sunday Oct 25 update.... The heart surgery went well and went faster then expected. Dick is in the ICU recovering right now. His second birthday is October 23. Happy Birthday Dick!!!

I'm so excited for Santa! I have been hoping he would get his heart ever since you met him and told us he had been waiting awhile. Yay!!!

ReplyDeleteWe have been checking in on your blog and we were so excited tonight to see that Dick has successfully had his transplant. What a feeling for both of you, as we know how you have been hoping and praying for him just as much as for yourself. We continue to pray for your speedy return to full health and a return to Wenatchee. Do you have any idea when you'll be coming home? We miss you both so much. If it motivates you to work a little harder on that bike, think about this: According to Curt, Ted and the guys have a ride scheduled for early summer 2010 up to Canada.
