Hi everyone! Well if you haven't guessed already this is Rose inserting a little message for Rick since he is still in lala land to announce to all family, friends and the world that Rick had a very successful heart transplant yesterday morning!!!!!!!!!! He is amazing as we all already know and the surgery took about 3 hours with no issues. He did very well and we have a heart surgeon, Dr. Aldea, to thank for this. And since Rick has such a wonderful and positive attitude he will continue to amaze us with good continued progress in the future. This morning he already responded with a slight nod and partial opening of his eye as the ICU nurse told him she was speaking with me on the phone. I was told this may not happen until tomorrow. I will try to post some updates as he awakens from his sleep and comes out of ICU. I'm sure we will all share lots of joy in watching him return to our presence with a smiling face and healthy heart and continue to inspire us with his will to live life to the fullest and enjoy the gift of life every day.
Thank you for all of your prayers, love and support and please continue to pray for him as he continues on this journey.
Rose (-: .......... Tonight at 8:00 pm I have to add that since this afternoon Rick is eating and talking!!! Who knows what he will be doing by tomorrow. He'll probably be adding to his blog himself!!! Keep posted................... He is amazing! Rose (-:

Such a precious gift to come to you and, in my opinion, to a very deserving person. In all the 45 years that I have known you, I can proudly say that the Donor's family can be assured that you are so deserving of this and you will serve well the spirt of giving that was given to you. Get some rest and I'll contact you when you are up to it.
