Feeling a lot better today. Have been out of bed walking the halls and generally doing a lot better. The docs are pleased with my progress. Still rock bottom with my immune system.
As I walk the halls here at UW hospital, I have been watching the demolition of Husky Statium. Growing up in a family of season ticket holders, Saturdays in the fall was always game day. Today the long circlar ramps have been destroyed. Close to the end of the game when I was a kid, we would all jog down the ramps to try to get a jump on the post game traffic. Now the ramp is a pile of concrete and dust. I imagine before I get out of here, a lot more of the old stadium will be gone.

The message from the inside is that they can hardly wait to get that 1950 concrete out of there. The west bowl is gone and north and south stands are gone too. It should be a great show for the time you will be in.

Sounds like you are making progress. That's sure good news.
ReplyDeleteIt must be a nostalgic (sp) feeling watching the old stadium come down.
If I don't write again soon, have a very Merry Christmas. We sent a Christmas card to your home address. Guess we should have sent it to your apt. in Seattle, but know we were thinking of you.
